Energy Efficiency Programs for Texas
Beginning in 2002, Texas-New Mexico Power (TNMP) began to roll out new energy efficiency programs in the Texas portion of its distribution service territory. These programs offer incentives for the installation of a wide range of energy efficiency measures, and are designed to help TNMP achieve its energy efficiency goal.
In 2010, TNMP is offering targeted energy efficiency programs for residential and commercial customers in its Texas distribution service territory. By offering a comprehensive set of programs, TNMP is ensuring that customers in all classes have access to energy efficiency services.

2010 Low Income Weatherization Program
Through its Low Income Weatherization Program, TNMP is making approximately $175,000 available annually to not-for-profit agencies that can provide energy efficiency improvements to the homes of income-eligible customers in the TNMP electric distribution service area. Energy-efficiency measures include efficient lighting, ENERGY STAR® refrigerators and air conditioners, solar screens, and attic and wall insulation. The maximum allowable expenditure under the program is $4,000 per home. The participating agencies are responsible for identifying eligible customers, validating income eligibility, performing assessments to prioritize energy efficiency improvements and arranging for the installation of eligible energy efficiency measures.
Contracts to a limited number of not-for-profit agencies will be awarded through an application which is available on this Web site. Agencies interested in participating should complete and submit the online application. For more information, please call Mr. Phil Audet at (512) 263-1057.
2010 Solar PV Pilot Program
TNMP's Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Pilot Program is designed to help TNMP customers meet a portion of their energy needs with solar electric systems. The Program offers financial incentives that help offset the initial cost of installing a solar energy system. By installing solar on your home or business, you can generate a portion of your own electricity and help the environment.
2010 Peak Load Management Pilot SOP
Project Sponsors (customers or third-party sponsors) provide on-call, voluntary curtailment of electric consumption during peak demand periods in return for incentive payments.
